London Carex in brief

London Carex is an organisation belonging to the Eurotunnel group in charge of developing the British branch of the Carex network with a high-speed freight terminal situated near London and linked to High Speed 1, the high-speed line connecting London to the Channel tunnel.

The terminal is intended for collecting and receiving standard air containers transported by high-speed freight trains travelling to or from the Channel tunnel and serving other Carex sites on the continent. The estimated potential is 6 - 8 trains per day.

The project is expected to be operational in 2015.

Eurotunnel Group does not intend to be the sole shareholder in London Carex.

Approaches are in progress, especially with agencies and development organisations
They include, for example, TFL, Transport For London and LDA, London Development Agency.
